Oracle’s Software Assurance organization is focused on making application security and software assurance scalable and effective. We are a diverse team of architects, researchers, and engineers working on innovative solutions to complex security challenges. Currently, we are developing a new software assurance project from scratch.

Work You’ll Do

We are seeking a Security Data Analyst to join our team. This role involves data analysis, security research, and development. You will design and develop a platform capable of analyzing large datasets for security and compliance, using your cybersecurity expertise to identify and mitigate emerging threats, and ensuring secure coding practices are integrated throughout the development process.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in software or platform development/engineering across front end, mobile, back end, ad tech, or analytics dataflows.
• Experience with data management, building scalable platforms for data-intensive applications.
• Ability to handle large datasets and design maintainable, scalable systems.
• Strong API development skills, familiarity with REST or gRPC.
• Programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar.
• Knowledge of data science concepts and tools like Jupyter, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, numpy.
• Experience with API testing and security tools such as Postman, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP.
• Understanding of database management systems like MySQL.
• Experience with security and compliance frameworks and standards.
• Knowledge of performance optimization for mobile applications.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with OCI cloud services.
• Experience with machine learning or AI in security.
• Familiarity with Agile, JIRA, Confluence.
• Knowledge of Software Assurance programs.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop a secure, high-performance platform for API data analysis stored in MySQL.
• Collaborate with teams to analyze, define, and implement data rules and flows, creating an auditable tool.
• Conduct threat analysis and manage security vulnerabilities in data flows.
• Ensure security compliance by integrating best practices and standards (OWASP, NIST, ISO-27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
• Automate security controls for continuous monitoring.
• Maintain data integrity through MySQL queries.
• Develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
• Create tools to identify security weaknesses.
• Stay updated with latest security trends and technologies.
• Document architecture and technical decisions comprehensively.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
