Job Description:

Oracle’s Software Assurance organization aims to make application security and software assurance scalable. We are a diverse team of architects, researchers, and engineers working on innovative, secure solutions within a large enterprise environment and a startup-like agility, focusing on a greenfield software assurance project.

Work You’ll Do

As a Security Data Analyst, you will combine data analysis, security research, and development skills to design and develop a platform capable of analyzing large datasets for security and compliance. You will proactively identify emerging threats, ensuring secure coding practices are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years in software/platform development or engineering, with experience in front end, mobile, back end, ad tech, or analytics dataflows.
  • Experience building automated, scalable data platforms for data-intensive applications.
  • Ability to handle large datasets and design maintainable systems.
  • Strong API development skills, including REST or gRPC architectural patterns.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data science concepts and tools like Jupyter, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, numpy.
  • Experience with API testing and security tools such as Postman, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems like MySQL.
  • Hands-on experience with security and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization for mobile applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with OCI cloud services.
  • Experience with machine learning or AI in security.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of Software Assurance programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect and develop a secure platform for analyzing large API datasets stored in MySQL.
  • Collaborate with teams to define data rules and flows, creating auditable tools.
  • Perform threat analysis and manage security vulnerabilities in data flows.
  • Implement security best practices, ensuring compliance with standards like OWASP, NIST, ISO-27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP.
  • Automate security and compliance monitoring.
  • Maintain data integrity through MySQL queries.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
  • Create tools for identifying security weaknesses.
  • Stay updated on latest trends, contributing to platform improvements.
  • Document architecture, services, and decisions clearly.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
