Job summary

Co-op Digital is seeking a Principal Security Architect to lead the security architecture for applications and data. The role focuses on embedding secure design into products, platforms, APIs, and data services, while providing strategic direction, governance and assurance across the business.

You’ll guide threat modelling, security patterns and collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver resilient technology for Co-op’s digital platforms and services.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud-native architectures with security by design.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and how to apply controls.
• Proven ability to lead architecture for enterprise applications and data.

Responsibilities

• Lead application and data security architecture, setting standards and best practices.
• Embed secure-by-design approaches across APIs, cloud solutions, and data services.
• Provide expert security guidance and governance across the business.
• Lead threat modelling and support risk-based decisions on controls.
• Define and maintain security patterns for development, data protection, access, cryptography, and APIs.
• Contribute to architecture governance, audits, and regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and senior leaders to drive secure technology outcomes.
