Job summary

Qualifications

• A PhD, MSc or BSc in a biological discipline (essential).
• 6+ years of industry experience within immunological drug discovery (essential).
• Experience in developing immunological assays e.g. flow cytometry, ELISA, cytokine release etc (essential).
• Proven experience leading projects and collaborations with external partners (essential).
• Strong understanding of drug discovery from target ID through lead ID and optimisation (essential).
• Experience handling primary immune cells such as B cells or T cells (essential).
• CRO experience (desirable).
• Previous experience running small teams within a drug discovery setting (desirable).
• Existing right to work in the UK, without need for visa sponsorship now, or in the future (essential).

Responsibilities

• Lead the growth of the immunology function of the business.
• Manage a small team of scientists and senior scientists running immunological assays for drug discovery programmes (immune cell activation, cytokine profiling, toxicity, target engagement etc).
• Bringing in new technologies to expand offerings.
• Leading client interactions including project updates, being the main technical point of contact to answer questions during initial client briefs.
• This role will still have an element of lab work where required.

Our client is a leading drug discovery service provider, offering a range of pharmacological research capabilities to the Drug Discovery sector. They collaborate with lead researchers and organisations to enhance the understanding of immunological, oncological, neurological and other disease areas. The Role

As a Principal Scientist in immunology, you will be responsible for
