Job Details:

• Job Title: Principal Safety & Environmental Engineer
• Locations: Barrow-In-Furness, Portsmouth, BroadOak, Frimley, Weymouth, Plymouth, or Bristol
• Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Support the derivation and management of Product Safety requirements based on hazard and risk identification
• Work according to Project Safety Management Plans
• Influence the development of safe designs and Safety Cases, including technical safety arguments and justification reports
• Participate in hazard identification meetings and maintain the hazard log
• Perform peer reviews, verification, and assurance tasks to validate Safety Cases and documentation

Qualifications and Skills:

• Understanding of engineering safety management processes, hazard analysis, safety arguments, and safety case reports
• Knowledge of safety within systems engineering, including requirements establishment and delivery
• Understanding of ALARP principles and application
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS and Enterprise Architect
• Experience working in defense or complex systems involving software products
