Principal Safety Engineer
As a Principal Safety Engineer, you will undertake a valued and critical role. You will be accountable for enacting the GDUK Safety Policy within the Design Services Contract (DSC), other contracted work, and internal product development, primarily through execution of Safety Management Programmes to address Functional and Non-Functional Safety aspects.
The successful candidate will likely be a Chartered Engineer with several years’ experience leading safety elements of large programmes and delivering across multiple projects. The ability to contribute to the safety capability of the business, provide strategic safety leadership, and deliver innovative approaches in military land, sea, and air environments is essential.
You will be responsible for creating and managing Safety Plans and Safety & Environmental Cases in accordance with GDUK processes. Additionally, you will analyze software and hardware design capabilities to identify hazards, their causes, and consequences, and formulate specific functional safety requirements and operational processes.
To succeed, you should demonstrate extensive experience in Safety Engineering for large-scale systems or equivalent transferable experience. Leadership in Safety Engineering and understanding of Systems Engineering are important. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is highly desirable.

This role offers a starting salary between £52,800 and £75,000, along with our excellent flexible benefits package.
