About Our Team
Our team comprises highly motivated QA engineers, full-stack developers, data engineers, and business analysts, all leveraging the Microsoft stack for application development and data engineering. We build scalable data solutions that enable seamless sharing with various customers and collaborate closely with Data Operations, Data Science, SREs, and Product Management to ensure high-quality data products. Operating in a fast-paced agile environment, we prioritize speed and quality, working seamlessly across distributed locations. The successful candidate will coach and develop a team of 5 QAs to drive process improvements and best practices.

About The Role
This Principal QA role on a data platform data engineering team involves leading the quality assurance function to deliver high-quality software products. Responsibilities include developing and executing automated and performance testing, defining QA objectives and roadmaps, implementing quality metrics, owning QA end-to-end from discovery to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Leading development and execution of automated and performance testing for diverse projects.
2. Defining objectives and roadmaps for QA.
3. Implementing and tracking quality metrics such as code coverage.
4. Owning QA processes from discovery through delivery.
5. Creating automation frameworks for web applications, APIs, and data platforms like ADFs and Databricks.
6. Collaborating with teams for planning and conducting testing.
7. Ensuring testing requirements are met as per stakeholder agreements.
8. Identifying and implementing cost-effective testing tools.
9. Investigating and resolving performance issues with IT teams.
10. Leading initiatives for continuous improvement and best practices.

Requirements

1. Extensive expertise in Quality Test Engineering with over a decade of experience.
2. Engineering-Computer Science BS or equivalent experience.
3. Experience leading, coaching, or managing QAs to improve processes and adopt new tools.
4. Proficiency in automation tools/frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium/WebDriver.
5. Programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C#.
6. Experience with CI/CD systems such as TeamCity, Jenkins.
7. Knowledge of containerization and Azure services like Service Bus, Function Apps, ADFs.
8. Understanding of data technologies including Data Warehouse, Snowflake, ETL, Pyspark, Delta tables, file formats like Parquet.
9. Strong SQL and stored procedures skills.
10. Ability to lead performance and automation testing for large-scale projects.
11. Experience in managing testing environments.
12. Ability to work within budgets and stay updated on industry trends.
