Job description

Principal Project Manager

Mining Remediation Authority is looking for a Principal Project Manager to lead safety‑critical national projects that protect communities and the environment across Scotland, England and Wales. The successful candidate will inspire a multi‑site team, manage high‑impact projects under NEC4 contracts, and champion compliance, assurance and value for money.

  • Portfolio delivery at scale: You have led complex construction/engineering projects or programmes, balancing time, cost and quality while maintaining risk, assurance and audit readiness.
  • Calm in the moment: You prioritise and decide in an emergency‑response context, keeping colleagues, customers and communities at the centre.
  • Clear communication: You translate complex information so it’s actionable for residents, partners and colleagues.
  • Collaborative trust builder: You work well with internal teams, local partners and suppliers to achieve safe, compliant, value‑for‑money outcomes.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with NEC4 contracts, public‑sector procurement, health & safety legislation, and coal mining subsidence legislation.
  • Mobility: Able to travel for meetings and site visits across Scotland, England and Wales, including overnight stays.
In This Role, You Will

Role Details

Location: Hybrid (average 1 day per week at Mansfield office)
Schedule: Full‑time
