My Client is recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer in the Water Sector.

Location: Exeter or Bristol with Hybrid working

Role Overview: You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead - Design Management, providing high-quality Engineering Design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. The role involves coordinating design activities, producing design documents and drawings, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are feasible for construction and commissioning, considering all associated costs.
2. Utilizing standard practices wherever possible.
3. Providing estimates and feedback to the Proposals department.
4. Developing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes to enhance departmental efficiency.
5. Coordinating designs with all disciplines involved to ensure integrated contract execution.
6. Maintaining project files and records.
7. Ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering a culture focused on client needs.
8. Supervising and developing staff, ensuring a safe working environment.
9. Minimizing waste and considering environmental issues in designs.
10. Ensuring all designs adhere to health and safety standards.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience in concept design, project definition, and data gathering.
• Strong understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
• Experience managing staff in water and sewage treatment plant design.
• Membership of a professional institution or chartered status.
• Ability to develop rationalized and economical plant layouts.
• Knowledge of water treatment aspects, including mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management.
• Flexible mindset capable of handling large data sets.
• Effective presentation skills for technical proposals.
• Valid driving license.
