Job summary

Allianz UK is seeking a Principal Pricing Analyst to join the Standard Motor Risk Selection team in London or Chelmsford on a hybrid basis. You will develop and implement rating proposals to support growth of our broker motor portfolio, leveraging market knowledge and pricing expertise.

Collaborate with the Broker business and Technical Excellence Pricing colleagues to drive underwriting performance, manage pricing analyses, and deliver projects that align with strategic targets while fostering

Qualifications

• Experience in a personal lines pricing team and pricing strategy.
• Proficient with large data sources and coding tools like Databricks or Python.
• Experience with Willis Towers Watson Radar software.
• Understanding of price components to deliver business targets.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to explain technical concepts.
• Knowledge of GLMs and GBMs in modelling.

• Carry out and support pricing analysis.
• Coordinate delivery of technical projects to improve underwriting performance.

We have a new opportunity for a Principal Pricing Analyst to join our Standard Motor Risk Selection team in London or Chelmsford on a hybrid basis. This role has been created to support the growth ambitions for our broker motor portfolio.

You will use your insurance market knowledge and pricing expertise to develop and implement rating proposals that enable us to deliver on our business objectives.

We work closely with the wider Broker business to manage our Trading performance and with our Technical Excellence Pricing colleagues, so building and maintaining strong relationships is key to us achieving our goals.

About You

Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:

• You’ll work closely with broker partners, building strong relationships while uncovering new opportunities to drive portfolio growth.
• Carrying out and supporting the team to deliver pricing analysis
• Coordinating the delivery of technical projects to improve underwriting performance against common technical modelling standards and adherence to data controls
• Defining, setting priority and reporting on status of project work and rate reviews / analysis to support product and pricing development
• Supporting manager in Pricing meetings through presenting and contributing to outcomes
• Assisting in coaching and developing other colleagues within the team to ensure constant up-skilling.

Essential Skills

We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:

• Experience as part of a personal lines pricing team, supporting pricing strategy and portfolio performance.
• Proven experience in working with large data sources and a good command of coding languages like Databricks, Python or similar tools.
• Experience of Willis Towers Watson Radar software
• Good understanding of the various elements of the price we set, and how we can optimise this to deliver business targets
• Good stakeholder management skills, including communication, expectation management and the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Knowledge of relevant statistical modelling methods and machine learning techniques i.e. GLM’s and GBM’s.

Desirable Skills

• Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
