Principal Presales Solution Consultant - Public Sector

Main purpose of role & level in the business:

As an experienced Presales Solution Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the solutions that drive our customers’ digital transformation. You will work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and define comprehensive IT solutions/services that align to their objectives and desired outcomes and carefully craft winning bid submissions/proposals. This is a key role in continuing the successful growth of our Digital Services business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively with the Sales and Leadership teams to support the sales process
  • Providing expert knowledge on our products and services and industry trends
  • Developing detailed robust and competitive solution proposals that address client pain points
  • Writing high-quality winning bid and proposal submissions
  • Ensuring win themes are well articulated and effectively incorporated into bid responses
  • Developing storyboards/wireframe responses with bid team members to create a well-structured bid that addresses all elements of the question
  • Conducting in-depth presentations and demonstrations for customers
  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify opportunities and enhance customer engagement
  • Identifying new innovative ways of solving customer problems
  • Supporting identification of new business opportunities, both with new and existing clients
  • Working with marketing to ensure appropriate external messaging

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Understanding of the buyer journey
  • Ability to take ownership for shaping solutions and formulating a winning bid around it
  • Excellent knowledge of digital services concepts and our markets, with the ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors
  • 5 years+ experience shaping solutions based on customer requirements and writing winning bid submissions
  • An appreciation and knowledge of technical delivery, agile methodologies, etc.
  • Broad technology/delivery experience and sound awareness of technology trends and their potential impact for our customers
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the customer organization including executive and C-level
  • Ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • A demonstrable ability in mentoring and coaching other team members
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thorough proofreading skills

Desirable: Experience, skills, knowledge & ability

  • Experience working specifically within the UK Public Sector/Healthcare
  • Understanding of procurement frameworks
