Leonardo UK is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division. You will lead design, integration and delivery of secure platforms across on-prem, hybrid and cloud environments, balancing hands-on engineering with technical leadership.

The role involves mentoring engineers, solving complex customer problems, and contributing to security and accreditation efforts in a highly controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive platform engineering expertise across Windows/Linux and multiple domain technologies.
• Experience delivering secure platforms in on-prem, hybrid and cloud environments.
• Ability to interpret complex customer requirements into system designs.
• Knowledge of cyber security controls and accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority on one platform domain and provide specialist expertise.
• Lead design and implementation of secure platforms across environments.
• Capture and interpret complex requirements to drive system design.
• Develop high- and low-level designs aligned with secure-by-design principles.
• Own delivery within work packages including planning and progress reporting.
• Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers.
• Contribute to technology strategies and feasibility studies.
• Engage stakeholders and justify design decisions.
