Job summary

Ticketmaster UK Limited is seeking a Principal Engineer I for the Prepurchase Platform in London, UK. This hands-on technical role leads platform modernization and designs event-driven architectures to sustain peak-demand on-sales.

You will write production code daily, partner with product, security, and SRE teams, and influence engineering standards across the domain while embedding within services or working across teams for high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to reason about distributed systems tradeoffs.
• Experience building high-traffic systems at scale with low tail latency.
• Strong coding background and production-grade software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and fix production problems with urgency during high-demand on-sales.
• Build end-to-end, high-availability systems that scale under extreme traffic.
• Lead platform modernization and migrate legacy services to cloud-native architectures.
• Design and implement streaming and event-driven solutions using Kafka/gRPC.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and multiple teams on architectural decisions.
• Drive observability improvements with monitoring and incident response.
