Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to lead the planning team on a complex, globally scoped project for Saudi Aramco, coordinating with the PM team and Wood as EPC contractor.

The role requires over twenty years in process industry environments with large capital project management, strong Primavera P6 and risk analysis skills, and the ability to present to senior management and Board members.

Qualifications

• Twenty years’ experience in a process industry production/engineering environment with large capital project management experience.
• Leadership experience (10 years) leading planning teams or functions.
• Proven track record with Pre-FEED and FEED projects; knowledge of EPC phases in refinery/oil & gas/petrochemical facilities.
• Expert technical understanding to manage scheduling across all project phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Turnover, Commissioning).

Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide a complete planning service to the project management team on a complex project with a global reach.
• Lead a team of planning engineers as a key member of the Saudi Aramco Management Team.
• Manage the Engineering Contractor (Wood) to deliver within the timescales and SAEP requirements of Saudi Aramco.
• Regular and transparent communication of project progress and integration of multiple project schedules.
• Present schedule topics to all levels including Board members and communicate the schedule with all stakeholders within Saudi Aramco.

Qualifications

• A minimum of twenty years’ experience in a process industry production and/or engineering environment with large (>$100MM) capital project management experience.
• 10 years leadership experience
• A proven track record and understanding of Pre-FEED and FEED projects
• Detailed knowledge of the EPC phase of refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical or similar facilities
• Experience in planning for a large project or a large sub-element of a major project
• Experience in supervising and managing the activities of a planning team
• BSc in engineering or related degree
• Diploma in Project Control/NVQ Level 4 in Project Control is preferred but not mandatory
• Expert technical understanding to manage scheduling activities through all project phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Systems turnover and Commissioning) on complex major projects
• Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Primavera Risk Analysis
• Strong understanding of Saudi Aramco’s business position and commercial objectives
• Ability to interpret complex data and information related to the overall project schedule and communicate analysis clearly to senior management
• Ability to condense complex planning issues to enable understanding, facilitate analysis, and provide solutions
• Ability to deliver timely, concise, and accurate project progress reporting across engineering, procurement, and construction phases
• Knowledge of planning systems and how to optimize their use within projects

• Ability to digest detailed information while maintaining view of the bigger picture
