The Planner Jobs Redactive Publishing Limited is seeking a Principal Planner – Policy to lead the development of our Local Plan. You will be a motivated planning professional with a track record delivering policy and guiding teams through complex planning challenges.

We offer hybrid working, a supportive council culture, and opportunities to grow towards Chartered RTPI status. The role is full-time with a fixed term of 24 months and a salary in the NS13 range.

Qualifications

• Degree level education in planning or a related field.
• Chartered Membership of RTPI or eligible to attain within 1 year of appointment.
• Experience delivering new policy and leading plan making.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the Local Plan and policy framework.
• Provide leadership and guidance to planning teams on policy initiatives.

Principal Planner – Policy

Fixed term contract for 24 months with the possibility to become permanent

Full time, 37 hours per week

Salary NS13 £46,579 to £48,738 per annum

Job description

We are now recruiting for a Principal Planner to take a leading role in developing our new Local Plan. You will be a motivated and experienced planning professional, witha strong ability to tackle complex planning challenges and lead others in developing effective plans.

You will have extensive experience of working in Planning with a track record of having delivered new policy and strategy. As a ‘front runner’ authority you will have the opportunity to lead on significant and complex elements of plan making in the new plan making system. You will be educated to degree level and hold Chartered Membership of RTPI, or equivalent body, or be eligible to attain and seek full Chartered membership of the RTPI within 1 year of appointment.
