Job summary

Newark and Sherwood District Council is seeking a proactive Planner to join the Planning Policy team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on developing the Local Plan, assembling the evidence base and policy, and guiding consultees and the public through the plan-making process.

The post requires a degree and RTPI Chartered membership (or working towards). The council offers hybrid working, a generous leave entitlement and various employee benefits.

Planner - Policy
Permanent
37 hours per week
Salary NS11 £40,444 to £42,123 per annum

We are looking for a proactive and committed Planner to join our busy Planning Policy team. As a ‘front runner’ authority you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a Local Plan in the new plan making system.

We are looking for somebody who can make a real difference producing the Local Plan, preparing evidence base and policy, supporting consultees and the public in engaging in the process. You will be educated to degree level and hold Chartered Membership of RTPI, or equivalent body, or be working towards attaining full Chartered membership of the RTPI.
