Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Principal Town Planner for our Leeds team. The role focuses on leading planning projects, managing applications and appeals, and mentoring junior colleagues in a busy, multi-disciplinary consultancy.

You will engage with clients, provide expert witness input when needed, and help drive budgets and schedules to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have planning experience, preferably in a consultancy environment.
• Chartered RTPI member or working towards chartered status.
• Confident in client facing and presenting with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planning projects from inception to decision, including managing applications and appeals.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Mentor junior members of the planning team.
• Provide expert witness advice when required.
• Manage budgets and schedules and assist with new business development.

Principal Town Planner

An excellent opportunity has become available for a Principal Town Planner to join an established multi-disciplinary consultancy as part of their growing plannig team in Leeds.

Within the role the successful Principal Town Planner will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects including managing applications and appeals, liaising with clients, mentoring junior members of the team, giving expert witness advice, managing budgets and schedules and assisting with new business development.

For this position candidates are sought with planning experience, preferably within a consultancy environment. It is likely that the successful Principal Town Planner will be a Chartered member of the RTPI and be confident in client facing.
