Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking a Principal OT Cybersecurity Consultant for on-site work at AWE, Reading. You will lead secure OT/ICS architectures and run risk assessments within a safety‑critical, regulated environment.

Active UK DV clearance is mandatory; you will engage with regulators, support security accreditation, and guide bids across CNI, nuclear, and defence sectors.

• Lead the design and implementation of secure OT/ICS cybersecurity architectures.
• Conduct and oversee cybersecurity risk assessments and assurance activities.
• Apply IEC 62443, NCSC CAF, NIS Regulations and ONR SAPs.
• Support security accreditation processes and liaise with regulators and senior stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership across OT cybersecurity initiatives.
• Contribute to bids and client relationship growth across CNI, nuclear, and defence sectors.

Location and Working Pattern

This role is on-site at AWE, Reading. Given the level of clearance required, on-site presence is essential to meet project and security requirements.

• Contribute to bids, solution development, and client relationship growth across CNI, nuclear, and defence sectors.

Must-have Requirements

• Significant experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity, architecture, and risk management.
• Expert understanding of IEC\u00a062443, NCSC\u00a0CAF, NIS Regulations, and ONR SAPs.
• Proven background within safety-critical, regulated, or high-hazard environments.
• Demonstrable consulting experience with strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Active UK\u00a0DV\u00a0clearance (essential).

Nice-to-have Skills

• Recognised certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GICSP.
