Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the OLE First Principles design team in its Rail Systems practice in the UK. You will shape basic design work, produce technical reports, and drive reliability and efficiency across high-profile rail electrification projects.

You will mentor colleagues, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure designs meet relevant standards and client expectations while embracing new technologies and methods to improve project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in complex rail design projects.
• Strong understanding of UK rail standards and OLE design.
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary design packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage OLE First Principles design packages to completion within budget and schedule.
• Produce and check basic design drawings, reports, and calculations from first principles.
• Provide specialist input to support bid activities and design reviews.
