Job Description:

The role involves providing technical microbiological support in a UKAS accredited laboratory, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, leading method validation and improvements, and supporting quality assurance processes.

Note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Working hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as deputy to the Laboratory Manager when needed, ensuring compliance.
• Assist in daily pathogen department operations.
• Manage data transfer, test report issuance, and review of methods.
• Implement and validate new methods, ensuring documentation and accreditation standards are met.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain records of modifications and improvements.
• Investigate customer complaints and support audit processes.
• Ensure validation and maintenance of testing methods and systems.
• Support environmental monitoring and quality control activities.
• Provide technical support to procurement and customer service teams.
• Participate in technical forums and internal client support.

Qualifications:

• Experience in quality systems and working with a broad range of customers.
• Proficiency in IT, LIMS, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Experience in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Strong laboratory skills and method techniques.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to develop team members.
