Job description

Principal Mechanical Engineers

Our client is currently looking for 3 Principal Mechanical Engineers. The position can either be a contracting role or a full-time staff basis. The position will be based in the Preston area and will encompass hybrid working, offering a 4-day working week with 40 hours a week, but you are not restricted to 40 hours.

The position will be working within the Nuclear Sector and will require candidates to have experience working within highly regulated industries. As the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and support in the execution of engineering activities, as well as the production of design basis documentation to support the specification and development of engineering design solutions.

You will be responsible for ensuring the technical file documentation adequately demonstrates conformity to applicable legislations, regulations, and standards to support UKCA/CE Markings. The client is looking for engineers who have experience working with AutoCAD 3D, Inventor, and SolidWorks.

The right candidate will support the Engineering Manager in the measurement and reporting of engineering activities against cost, schedule, quality, and safety. You will also support the implementation of recovery strategies to minimize impacts on cost and schedule where variances are identified against the project baseline.

As this work will be within the nuclear industry, candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance and must have the right to work within the UK already established.
