Job Description:

Are you a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for the water sector? We are looking for a Principal Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join a growing team, taking the lead on key water projects for AMP8.

This is a remote role with occasional travel required a few days each month.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and develop a multi-location team of junior engineers
2. Drive the mechanical design of wastewater, clean water, and biosolids treatment projects
3. Oversee design and project management from concept to completion
4. Develop design reports, drawings, and calculations
5. Design energy-saving solutions and balance of plant systems
6. Engage in HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies

Requirements:

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
2. 7+ years of relevant design experience
3. Chartered Engineer or working towards (CEng)
4. Proven experience in the Water Industry
5. Strong computer and communication skills
6. Full UK driving license and own transport required
