Job Description

Join AECOM's Water Solutions team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer, focusing on water infrastructure projects across England & Wales. You will support major UK water utility investment programmes, including frameworks for South West Water, Wessex Water, Severn Trent Water, and Southern Water, working on projects from small rural sites to large infrastructure schemes.

Your responsibilities will include developing feasibility studies, creating design drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical quality, managing project budgets, and designing mechanical systems for water and wastewater operations.

We offer flexible working, site visits, and the chance to work on multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion, contributing to sustainable water solutions that benefit communities and the environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering with Chartered Engineer status or working towards it through IMechE.
• Proven experience in engineering reports, designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership of technical issues.
• Excellent coordination, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
