BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer specializing in Propulsion Systems to lead the design and development of innovative propulsion solutions for naval applications. The Future Business & Technology (FB&T) team:
The Future Business & Technology (FB&T) team within Naval Ships is responsible for the ship design for the campaigns, both for the UK and export markets. This role will allow you to shape the early system design, looking at the options for propulsion system equipment and layouts. You will have to develop an understanding of the whole propulsion system, and how it contributes to our customer requirements, while developing relationships with key suppliers.
The team is also responsible for technology research projects, using cutting edge technology to support key Naval Ships goals and bring a competitive edge to the designs we produce. We work with outside partners, including other companies and universities, to research technologies which will advance our designs and processes for the future of Naval Ships.
