Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of complex energy projects across EfW, district heating, hydrogen and biogas. You will guide the full lifecycle—from feasibility to construction—and work with clients, partners and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated outcomes.

You will define project scopes, support procurement, review vendor designs, and drive HSE excellence while developing key design deliverables and technical reports.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering and chartership status or progression.
• Experience in energy, power or process plants (EfW, hydrogen, biomass).
• Skilled in technical specs, reports, and deliverables for mechanical systems.
• Proficient with GA drawings, 3D models and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering solutions across a broad portfolio of energy projects.
• Lead scoping, feasibility, design, procurement support and construction oversight.
• Develop specifications, reports, GA drawings, 3D models and P&IDs.
