Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer to lead the mechanical design on high-profile, multidisciplinary projects across commercial, residential, healthcare and education sectors in the UK. The role is hybrid with 2 days in the office.

You will lead project teams (up to 10 engineers), oversee delivery, resolve technical challenges, and collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Chartered engineer status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering and Chartered status (CEng) preferred.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in building services.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.

A leading global engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its growing design team.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in the office and flexibility to be based from multiple locations across the UK.

About You

We're looking for an experienced mechanical building services engineer who enjoys leading projects and developing people.

You’ll ideally have:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (BEng, MEng, BSc or MSc).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Significant experience within a building services or engineering consultancy environment.
• A strong technical background in mechanical building services design.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design projects.
• Previous line management or mentoring experience.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
