MERITUS are recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a defence-sector client on a 12-month contract from Stevenage. The role requires SC clearance eligibility and offers four onsite days with one remote day per week, working on cutting-edge engineering programmes within a collaborative environment.

You will deliver mechanical design across complex products, support progression to production, and collaborate with manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 days per week onsite in Stevenage with 1 remote day available
• SC clearance or eligibility required
• Experience delivering mechanical design across complex products and assemblies
• Experience in design reviews, testing and supplier engagement

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design and development across complex products and assemblies as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Support progression of development designs into production and collaborate with manufacturing teams
• Contribute to successful delivery of challenging engineering programmes
• Lead or participate in formal design reviews and risk assessments
