Job summary

Sapien is a design and manufacturing business serving medical and pharmaceutical clients, with life cycle ownership from concept to inception. This role sits in a dedicated department and is positioned for long‑term succession at C‑suite level, critical to the business.

You will own machinery designs, drive R&D projects and deliver complete engineering documentation. The ideal candidate has extensive design engineering and leadership experience, with knowledge of moving parts, pneumatics,

Qualifications

• Experience in design engineering for machinery
• Ability to lead from concept through to manufacture
• Experience with moving parts, mechanisms, pneumatics and electrical components
• Familiarity with ATEX/CE directives or similar regulatory landscapes
• Proven leadership at a principal level
• Full product life cycle ownership of design projects

Client Overview

My client is a design and manufacturing business, who are specialists in their respective marketplace serving medical and pharmaceutical clients. They look after product from concept to inception.

This role is one working in a specific department of the group, still full life cycle and with R&D engagement, but this role is primed for long term succession at C-Suite level and is business critical.

Job Responsibilities

• Machinery design for customer orders
• R&D projects, product development and cost saving projects
• Complete ownership of your designs, development, and issuing of machines for manufacture
• Technical Documentation

Skill Required

• Over 10 years of Design Engineering experience
• Someone from machinery design will be ideal and thrive
• Experience of moving parts, mechanisms, pneumatics, electrical components
• Ideally with ATEX/CE directive experience or similar
• Full product life cycle & project ownership experience
• Proven leadership at principal level
