Job summary

AERIUS Marine UK, part of the Heinen & Hopman Group, seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design of shipboard refrigeration and chilled water plants. You will act as technical authority for thermodynamic design, component selection, system integration, and performance optimization.

You will ensure compliance with UKCA, LR, DNV and other naval standards, while guiding bids, concepts, and engineering reviews across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Refrigeration or Marine Engineering.
• Master's degree preferred for senior authority roles.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of marine refrigeration plants and chilled water systems for naval and commercial vessels.
• Oversee compliance with UKCA, Lloyd's Register and other classification society requirements.
• Provide engineering governance across concept, detailed design, build, FAT/SAT and commissioning.
