Job summary

Sepura Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Linux/Android Platform Developer to join the Software Team. You will focus on Android platform development, kernel configuration, and toolchain integration for embedded, battery-powered devices used in critical communications.

The role requires strong C++/Java, Linux kernel experience, and familiarity with Android open-source projects. You will work within a SCRUM team to deliver robust, secure platform software for diverse customers.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture and ecosystem.
• Experience with Linux kernel and system programming.
• Experience optimising Linux/Android performance, including power management.
• Proficiency with development/debugging tools (profiling, code coverage, memory leak detection).

Responsibilities

• Android platform development and kernel configuration, including scheduler modifications.
• Trialing and integrating open-source development tools for debugging and profiling.
• Prototyping demonstration systems to gather early feedback.
• Producing architectural, design and test specifications.
• Integration testing and issue resolution.
• Participation in project planning and technical reviews.
