Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Lighting Engineer to lead the Lighting & Energy Solutions team. You will drive design delivery, coordinate with multi-disciplinary groups, and manage client engagements across public and private sectors.

You will mentor early career professionals, support member development and contribute to project proposals within a global lighting network. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities for chartership and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience leading projects and teams in lighting or electrical design.
• Strong knowledge of external lighting and electrical standards and regulations.
• Experience in lighting maintenance operations and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design layouts and production of drawings and specifications.
• Oversee feasibility reports, option studies and technical notes.
• Manage project proposals and progress against milestones and budgets.
• Engage with Local Authority and Strategic Road Network clients to build relationships.
• Develop and mentor junior team members and support professional growth.
