East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Principal Information Analyst to provide analytical expertise within the Information Management and Performance Team. The role involves supporting the department's daily operations, managing information requests in line with current guidelines, and ensuring timely submissions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in specialist information provision and analysis, supported by in-depth knowledge of NHS datasets and definitions. They should possess excellent attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and be committed to thorough documentation. Advanced skills in Excel and SQL are essential to drive reporting and analysis development.

Main Duties

1. Assist in transitioning from Excel to online reporting platforms like SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI.
2. Support the department's day-to-day activities, ensuring compliance with guidelines and timely delivery of information requests.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in healthcare informatics.
• Professional development to Masters level or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years NHS experience, including at least 1 year in an Acute Provider setting.
• Experience analyzing complex data to support decision-making using large datasets.
• Understanding of NHS pathways, RTT, and current information initiatives.
• Ability to build relationships within the Trust and externally.
• Skills in workload prioritization, NHS data standards, clinical datasets, and delivering presentations.
• Knowledge of Lean, statistical methods, project management, and web-based reporting tools like SSRS and Power BI.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Attention to detail and methodical approach.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum, pro-rata.
