Job summary

Kier Group plc. is looking for a Principal Highways & Drainage Engineer to lead complex highways and drainage design across multiple UK locations.

You will drive execution, ensure safe and buildable solutions and mentor the design team in a collaborative, high-performance environment. The role offers agile working with locations across the country and a focus on delivery of major infrastructure schemes from concept through to delivery, within Kier Design's strong consultancy and contractor

Qualifications

• Chartered professional with significant relevant experience or demonstrable extensive experience.
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services, highways and drainage.
• Ability to provide technical design management advice across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record developing strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Commitment to sustainable development and best practice in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of temporary works design and checking for highways and drainage solutions.
• Provide tender and bid support, including outline design schemes and feasibility studies.
• Manage project leadership duties, agreeing technical requirements and overseeing design deliverables.
• Act as a technical help desk, offering engineering expertise to support understanding.
• Develop technical standards and design processes to ensure consistent quality of output.
