Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Principal Highways & Drainage Engineer to lead complex construction engineering services across a UK portfolio. The role focuses on safe, buildable designs and development of engineering capabilities within a collaborative team.

The position requires Chartered membership and a track record of leading multidisciplinary highway and drainage projects, delivering high-quality technical outputs, and fostering positive client relationships.

Qualifications

• Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CEng MICE).
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services focused on highways and drainage.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and design management across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of temporary works design and checking for highways and drainage solutions.
• Provide tender and bid support including outline designs and feasibility studies.
• Manage project leadership duties, set technical requirements and oversee design deliverables.
• Act as a technical help desk providing engineering expertise to support understanding.
• Develop technical standards and design processes to ensure consistent quality of output.
