Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer I to own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules for satellites and aerospace systems. You will guide architecture, schematic, layout, test and production, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across software and mechanical teams.

You will lead multi-module hardware programs, perform worst-case, SI/PI analysis, and present design reviews to customers and the executive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 years of board-level electronics design, analysis and test.
• Experience leading hardware teams and delivering multi-module assemblies.
• Expert use of Altium for detailed schematic and layout.
• Design for space radiation environments.
• Experience designing high-reliability electronics for space/defense.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience bringing hardware to production and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end hardware design from concept to production.
• Lead hardware teams to develop complex modules and systems.
• Perform worst-case, SI/PI analyses and guide analysis methods.
• Develop bring-up plans and verification testing for new hardware.
• Present design reviews to customers and executive team.
• Collaborate with software and mechanical engineers.
