Job summary

European Tech Recruit are partnering with a leading fabless semiconductor company in Cambourne to hire a Principal GPU Compiler Engineer. You will define GPU compiler architecture, build the compiler pipeline, and collaborate with Driver and HW teams.

You will optimize code generation for performance and power, influence future GPU architectures, and ensure milestones are met in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related majors.
• 7+ years of industry experience in the field.
• Experience with product compiler, assembler and linker development.
• Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

European Tech Recruit are working closely with a leading fabless semiconductor company, based in Cambourne, who are looking for a talented Principal GPU Compiler Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities as Principal GPU Compiler Engineer:

• Define GPU compiler software architecture and interfaces.
• Development/implement GPU compiler pipeline, linking and various optimizations / transformations.
• Collaborate with Driver team, HW team to implement new API & HW features.
• Collaborate with Driver team, HW team to improve/tune performance & power consumption.
• Execute & deliver to meet milestones/schedules.
• Analyze and debug code generation issues.
• Analyze and influence future GPU architectures.
• Construct reliable & trustable relationships across teams internally & externally.

Required:

• BS, MS or PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related majors.
• 7+ years of industry experience.
• Working experience on product compiler, compiler tools such as assembler, linker development.
• Hands-on knowledge / experience on C/C++ programming.
• Hands-on knowledge / experience on state-of-the-art compiler optimization / transformation techniques.
• Hands-on knowledge / experience on LLVM.
• Strong teamwork skill and execution capability.
• Strong problem solving, root causing and debugging skills.

Preferred skills:

• Knowledge / experience on GPU / GPU pipeline and GPU architecture.
• Knowledge / experience on SIMD architecture.
• Knowledge / experience on D3D, Vulkan / OpenGL, OpenCL APIs.
• Knowledge / experience on leveraging AI in compiler / tool / optimization development.
