Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Geoscientist in Oxford. You will lead geoscience and ground investigation projects, delivering high-level expertise and managing client relationships across the UK and beyond.

The role offers hybrid working, a strong focus on technical leadership, and clear development pathways, including support towards chartership and professional qualifications. You will also mentor junior staff and contribute to business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience in geoscience consultancy is essential.
• Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor junior consultants and lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead geoscience and ground investigation projects from planning through to completion.
• Provide specialist geological and geoscientific advice to clients.
• Plan and manage ground investigations and site works.
• Interpret geological, geotechnical and environmental data.
• Prepare and review technical reports and deliverables.
• Manage projects, budgets, programmes and client relationships.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior consultants.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders and business development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Support development of technical standards and best practice.
