Job summary

Anaplan Inc is seeking a versatile Principal Software Engineer to lead GenAI-driven planning platforms across frontend and backend services. You will architect scalable AI agents, MCP integrations, and end-to-end GenAI features, bridging React/TypeScript frontends with Python/Java/Kotlin or Node.js backends for production systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional software engineering experience with a track record of delivering complex projects
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and scaling agentic AI workflows and GenAI features
• Strong frontend skills with React/TypeScript and robust backend capabilities in Python/Java/Kotlin/Node.js
• Deep understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, MCP services, and multi-agent architectures
• Experience with observability, logging, performance monitoring across distributed systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration across product, design, and engineering teams
• Contributions to open-source agent frameworks, MCP servers, or distributed systems research (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy scalable GenAI solutions and autonomous AI agents
• Lead end-to-end GenAI development including backend services, tools, and evaluation harnesses
• Design, build, and maintain MCP servers and agentic AI workflows
• Guide full-stack development of responsive frontend apps and robust backend services
• Establish LLM observability, evaluations, caching, and performance monitoring
• Drive operational excellence, availability, and performance across microservices
• Mentor and review code, collaborating with product managers on technical roadmaps
