Job summary

Anaplan, a leader in AI-infused scenario planning, is seeking a Principal Engineer, AI, to drive end-to-end GenAI features across model integration, backend services, and UI interfaces. You will lead scalable architecture and production deployment for business planning use cases in London.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to productionize models, optimize inference, and implement observability, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks for GenAI features.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in AI/ML or related engineering domains.
• End-to-end model lifecycle experience from training to production.
• Deep knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and conversational AI patterns.
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs for domain-specific enterprise apps.
• Strong MLOps and LLMOps expertise ensuring scalable deployments.
• Experience with agentic frameworks and autonomous architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and modern software practices (CI/CD, testing).
• Track record delivering complex projects on time with quality.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (MS/PhD).
• Hands-on with cloud-native ML platforms and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding models.
• Experience with model serving frameworks (vLLM, TensorRT, Ray).
• Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation for AI features.
• Contributions to open-source ML or publications.
• Experience with observability tools (LangSmith, W&B, MLflow).

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and deployment of scalable Generative AI and ML systems into production.
• Develop end-to-end GenAI features including backend services, model integration, monitoring and deployment.
• Integrate and optimize LLMs for enterprise planning use cases and prompt engineering.
• Build conversational interfaces and autonomous agent workflows for planning tasks.
• Implement evaluation frameworks to measure GenAI quality (accuracy, latency, user satisfaction).
• Design APIs exposing AI capabilities to Anaplan's platform and third-party integrations.
• Optimize inference pipelines for performance, cost, and scale.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for GenAI systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize ML models and forecasting algorithms.
