Job summary
Penguin Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading consultancy to appoint a Principal Flood Risk Consultant. You will shape flood risk management across Aviation, Defense, Energy, Cities & Development, Education, Rail and Water sectors, in a flexible UK location.
You will lead hydraulic modelling, hydrology and GIS work; mentor junior staff; support project delivery and business development. Salary £60,000–£70,000, with opportunities for development and a flexible working environment.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience delivering flood risk projects with a focus on hydraulic modelling.
- Proficient in 1D-2D modelling using InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, and GIS.
- Strong leadership experience guiding technical teams.
- Excellent decision-making and organisational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical flood risk work focusing on modelling, hydrology and GIS.
- Mentor junior staff and ensure quality of deliverables.
- Develop and test project solutions for flood mitigation.
- Manage junior resources and support project managers and directors.
- Engage in business development, tendering and client engagement.
