Job summary

Penguin Recruitment in Glasgow is seeking a Principal Flood Risk & Hydrology Consultant to take technical ownership across major UK and international schemes, combining hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and client responsibility.

You will lead flood risk and hydraulic modelling work, review complex models, mentor junior staff, manage projects and client relationships, and contribute to proposals and development of technical services. This role offers strong progression and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Strong consultancy experience in flood risk and hydrology.
• Chartered professional status or working towards Chartership.
• Advanced hydraulic modelling and technical review capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead flood risk, hydrology and hydraulic modelling work.
• Review complex hydraulic models and Flood Risk Assessments.
• Provide technical advice across infrastructure and development projects.
• Support climate adaptation and water environment assessments.
• Manage project delivery and client relationships.
• Work with multidisciplinary design and environmental teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level consultants and modellers.
• Support proposals, work winning and development of the technical service.
