Job summary
Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Principal Flood Risk & Hydrology Consultant in Birmingham. You will take technical ownership across flood risk, hydrology and hydraulic modelling on major UK and international schemes, while leading on project delivery and client liaison.
This is a leadership role in a multidisciplinary team, mentoring junior staff and supporting proposals. Chartered status or working towards Chartership is preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong consultancy experience in flood risk and hydrology.
- Chartered status or working towards Chartership.
- Advanced hydraulic modelling and technical review capability.
- Experience delivering complex Flood Risk Assessments and hydrological studies.
- Strong client-facing and project management skills.
- Experience mentoring and developing technical staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead flood risk, hydrology and hydraulic modelling work
- Review complex hydraulic models and Flood Risk Assessments
- Provide technical advice across infrastructure and development projects
- Support climate adaptation and water environment assessments
- Manage project delivery and client relationships
- Work with multidisciplinary design and environmental teams
- Mentor junior and mid-level consultants and modellers
- Support proposals, work winning and development of the technical service
