Job summary

SYSTRA UK&I seeks a Principal Fire Engineer/Technical Lead to deliver complex fire engineering projects and develop key client relationships. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and apply CFD modelling, structural fire engineering and fire safety analyses to ensure compliant, high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities include fee proposals, project delivery, and driving innovation through best practices while staying ahead of regulatory guidance in the UK. Hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil or similar).
• Postgraduate fire engineering qualification (certificate, diploma or masters).
• Involvement with a professional body.
• Broad experience and knowledge in a similar role.
• Broad and robust knowledge of design and construction principles and standards.
• Communication with tact and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Work across a variety of projects independently and in teams.
• Provide continuous high quality fire engineering services to clients.
• Maintain up-to-date with market trends and new business streams.
• Carry out site visits during construction and provide advisory support.
• Prepare/ review fee proposals and manage projects end to end.
• Lead a team using standards and procedures to deliver quality outputs.
• Contribute to development of fire safety standards and best practices.
