Job summary

Worley in Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the production of detailed project estimates and tender pricing for energy transition projects.

You will coordinate estimating teams, manage schedules, and present findings to senior management, ensuring compliance with Worley standards and client expectations. A strong background in FEL/EPC/EPCM and risk‑aware pricing is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior level with experience in producing professional pricing or contract tendering.
• Experience across FEL/EPC/EPCM and different pricing models (Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable).
• Strong engagement with project management, engineering, and capture management and hands‑on mentality.
• Proficient in a globally recognized estimating tool.

Responsibilities

• Lead production of proposals and/or project estimates ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Supervise estimating teams during major cost estimates and challenge inputs across disciplines.
• Prepare detailed estimating plans, budgets, and workload schedules.
• Ensure timely completion of estimates and high quality presentation to management/clients.
• Maintain compliance with company formats and procedures.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation measures.

Role Context

Responsible to lead delivery of assigned project estimates:

Across all AACEi estimate Classes 5 to 1 and project values to

• For Class 3/2 estimates, leads and supervises project estimating team
• Delivers estimates within budget and schedule
• Lead and support the estimate through required governance process including presentation to senior management, supported by the Head of Estimating / Senior Principal Estimator

You’ll Do/carry Out

• Responsible for production of proposal and/or project estimates, ensuring compliance with Company standards and procedures.
• Co‑ordination and supervision of estimating teams during the production of major detailed cost estimates (proposals and projects) with ability to challenge inputs across all disciplines.
• Preparation of detailed estimating plans prior to execution, including scheduling and assignment of responsibilities.
• Control of project estimate preparation budgets and maintain workload schedule and manpower requirement records for incorporation into the Estimating Section workload schedule.
• Ensure that estimate completion dates are met and that work is accurate and well presented in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Liaise with the Contracts Department regarding contractual and insurance issues.
• Identify risk items and measures to mitigate risks
• Performance of detailed estimate reviews with Estimators and Engineers prior to Management reviews.
• Preparation of detailed estimate reports and basis of estimate write‑ups.
• Presentation of project/proposal estimates to Management and/or Clients.
• Preparation of detailed proposal or project close‑out reports, in accordance with procedures.
• Assurance of compliance with all requirements of the companies’ standard formats and procedures.
• Assist with capturing best practice and benchmarking metrics to improve estimating processes and procedures.

You’ll Have

• Several Years’ experience at Senior or higher level preparing professional pricing or contract tendering.
• High numerical individual with commercial acumen and experience in across commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc).
• Experience of successfully engaging with project management, engineering, and capture management. Hands‑on mentality.
• Expert user of a globally recognized estimating tool
