Job summary

isepglobal is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant in the UK to lead EIAs for highways and infrastructure. You’ll manage environmental risks, provide advisory support to designers and managers, and drive regulatory compliance across multiple projects.

You will work with engineers, clients and regulators, supporting sustainability initiatives, reporting, and the development of junior staff while managing budgets and resources. A Chartered status and driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related subject.
• Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or equivalent accreditation.
• Strong environmental consultancy experience within highways, construction or infrastructure.
• Good understanding of EIA processes and relevant planning legislation.
• Experience delivering environmental assessments, consents and compliance requirements.
• Strong report writing, project management and communication skills.
• Experience managing budgets, resources and supporting team development.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

About the Role

A well established organisation within the UK infrastructure sector is looking for a Principal Environmental Consultant to support the delivery of major highways and infrastructure projects.

The role will focus on leading Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), managing environmental risks and ensuring projects meet relevant planning and environmental regulations.

Working alongside engineers, project managers and clients, you will provide technical advice, support sustainability initiatives and help improve environmental standards across projects.

Key Responsibilities

You are an experienced environmental professional with a background in consultancy, ideally within highways, construction or infrastructure. You have a good understanding of environmental legislation and enjoy working with different teams to find practical solutions.

You are organised, confident managing projects and comfortable dealing with clients, stakeholders and technical challenges.
