As a Senior/Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Requirements and Acceptance), you will have the opportunity to work on various programmes, helping us to design, develop, integrate, manage, and support systems for in-build or in-service vessels.

Our broad range of Systems teams cover all aspects of the product's design throughout its lifecycle, implementing a variety of tools and techniques tailored to support the specialist requirements of our products. From Agile methodologies to a Model-Based Approach to Systems Engineering, we are committed to maintaining our leadership in Defence engineering by investing in our people.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior/Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Requirements and Acceptance) will involve:

• Understanding our customers' challenging needs and undertaking requirements elicitation and communication
• Leading, facilitating, and supporting the requirements change management processes
• Deriving functional requirements for systems, sub-systems, and components
• Providing assurance of functionally coherent designs
• Supporting the design certification process
• Taking accountability for technical work packages
• Providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to other engineers
• Steering new systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes
• Working with customers to support delivered systems and resolve issues

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior/Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Requirements and Acceptance):

Degree level qualification in relevant STEM subject (Engineering, Physics, Maths, Science) or equivalent industry/armed forces experience.

Significant experience in requirements elicitation, management, and/or design certification and acceptance of complex products and systems.

Experience with requirements management tools (DOORs, Cradle, etc.)

Understanding of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations.

Experience undertaking other Systems Engineering activities, including:

• Systems Integration, Verification, and Validation
• Implementing and Governing Engineering Lifecycles
• Defining and managing System interfaces

You will be self-motivated and proactive, able to analyze complex problems and work autonomously and systematically. You will have excellent communication skills to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders and be capable of supervising others.
