Principal Mechanical Engineer – Power and Propulsion
Maritime Naval Ships are pleased to announce this progression opportunity Principal Mechanical Engineer – Power and Propulsion. This role sits within the Engineering Function.
The Principal Mechanical Engineer role specializes in Power & Propulsion and is part of a team heavily involved in the construction of naval ships for the Royal Navy. The delivery of the propulsion system on T26 is pivotal to the overall programme, ensuring the customer is provided with a quality product that meets all requirements and expectations.
The role will involve delivering specialist mechanical engineering expertise to organise and co-ordinate significant aspects of the power and propulsion design, installation and testing on T26 to ensure defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and cost. The role requires a regular presence on the ship to support the build programme, and involves managing technical contract packages, resolving emergent issues, and providing support to export contracts, contributing to a small, specialised department with minimal turnover
