SGS in Buxton is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer (Intrinsic Safety) to lead certification activities for ATEX, UKEx and IECEx, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 and 17065.You will act as a technical authority for clients and internal teams, support the Engineering Manager on performance and project delivery, and drive process improvements across certification workflows.A degree in Electronics and ATEX/IECEx certifications are essential, with a full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
Degree in Electronics (essential)
ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification experience required
Experience leading certification projects or teams preferred
Responsibilities
Lead ATEX, UKEx and IECEx certification activities.
Provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams on certification requirements.
Support Engineering Manager with team performance, utilisation targets and project delivery.
Drive continuous improvement across certification processes to increase efficiency and client value.
Develop quotations, review certifications and maintain strong client relationships.
