Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking Principal Engineers for its AI Productivity Lab to accelerate internal AI-driven productivity and automation. You will lead the engineering of coworking solutions, build reusable platform capabilities, and drive adoption across business areas while mentoring engineers and aligning with business SOPs.

You will work in the Data & AI Team within the CTO, shaping the Group's AI strategy and delivering with cross-functional partners to realise measurable benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering technology solutions to complex production environments.
• Extensive knowledge of solutions architecture, software engineering and business process automation.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding and coworking tech (Claude Code, Cowork, OpenClaw, GitHub Copilot).
• Understanding of risk management in Financial Services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering of coworking solutions (agents, tools and automations) for priority business areas, taking designs from prototype to MVP.
• Design and build reusable capabilities for the Lab's platform and repository (skills, tools, SOP assets) with adoption path.
• Apply hands-on experience to evaluate options, recommend approaches and accelerate delivery.
• Partner with stakeholders to shape use cases, embed solutions into SOPs and measure outcomes.
• Coach and mentor engineers, conduct code reviews and engage senior stakeholders on technical direction.
