Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Principal Electronics & Software Product Engineer to drive full product architectures from concept to manufacturing. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, own architecture while growing client relationships in regulated markets.

The role involves building complex electromechanical products, delivering hardware and software integration across the lifecycle, and mentoring teams in a fast-growing consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, prototyping, and testing electronic circuits with embedded software in C/C++.
• Strong hands-on electronics skills including soldering and PCB rework.
• Experience across the product development lifecycle from concept to manufacture.
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams with strong written and verbal communication.
• UK engineering degree (2:1) from a leading university; visa eligibility for the UK.

Responsibilities

• Develop electronics and embedded software for diverse, complex new products.
• Lead integration of electromechanical designs through to manufacture and transfer.
• Take technical ownership of product architecture from concept to launch.
• Deliver progress to clients and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Contribute to requirements, schematics, PCB layout, hardware bring-up, and validation.
• Support project planning, resourcing, and leadership activities.
• Build client relationships and help convert opportunities into contracts.
